How To Bath Newborn Baby: Baby’s First Bath q.

Bathing a newborn baby can be a daunting task, especially for first-time parents. However, with proper guidance, it can be done with ease. In this article, we will discuss the step-by-step process of bathing a newborn baby with an umbilical cord.

Before starting, gather all the necessary items, such as a baby bathtub, a soft washcloth, baby soap, a towel, and clean clothes. Make sure that the room is warm and draft-free to prevent the baby from catching a cold.

Fill the baby bathtub with warm water, not hot. Test the temperature with your elbow or wrist to ensure it is not too hot for the baby’s delicate skin. Place the baby gently in the tub, supporting the head and neck with one hand and the body with the other.

Using a soft washcloth, gently clean the baby’s face, neck, and ears. Be careful not to get water in the baby’s nose and ears. Then, wash the baby’s body, starting from the neck down to the feet, one section at a time. Use a small amount of baby soap to clean the folds and creases in the baby’s skin. Rinse the soap off thoroughly to avoid any irritation.

When it comes to cleaning the umbilical cord stump, use a cotton ball or a washcloth dipped in warm water. Gently clean around the base of the stump, taking care not to pull it off prematurely. Pat the area dry with a clean towel.

After the bath, wrap the baby in a warm towel and dry gently. Remember to pat, not rub, the baby’s skin to prevent irritation. Apply a mild moisturizer, if necessary, to keep the baby’s skin hydrated. Dress the baby in clean clothes and enjoy the sweet baby scent!
